Beginning Sunday, March 4 we will be starting an in-depth study of the New Testament. This will be a Ten-week study for all ages. The lessons are in plain English that everyone can understand, and groups are divided in age appropriate levels for kids. Come join us each week to learn what the New Testament REALLY says. We are looking forward to the new year and hope that you are too. Join us on New Year’s Day at our only worship service at 11am. Communion will be served to all who wish to join, childcare and children’s worship will be available in Kid’s Krossing. Betty Granzow will be delivering the sermon, which is entitled, “Love & New Beginnings.” Join us as we ring in the new year.

The Legend of the Christmas Tree

This service is especially designed for children and their families.  After some wonderful music Ms. Autumn and Miss Megan will share some great stories for children and teach them the Legend of the Christmas Tree.  Children will be reading the Christmas Story to us from the Gospel of Luke.

 7:00 PM • The Music of Christmas & Candlelighting

“They Returned, Glorifying and Praising God” 

This service features beautiful music along with Bible reading, stories, carols and candlelighting at the close of the service with the singing of “Silent Night.”  Join us for this beautiful candlelighting service which includes traditional and contemporary Christmas music.

11:00 PM • Candlelight Communion Service

“Go and Search Carefully for the Child” 

This service begins on Christmas Eve and concludes at the stroke of midnight Christmas Day.  Join us for wonderful stories, Bible reading, prayer, and the traditional music of Christmas.  Communion and candlelighting with the singing of “Silent Night” will conclude the service.

If you have photos of church activities, we would like to post them on the website! We have a few posted, but would love to have more. Please contact the church office if you have photos to share. Historical photos would be wonderful too, It would be great to show the history of our church on the website.

Older versions of the Mailer are available on the Mailer Archives page. As always, if you need a printed version you can stop by the church and pick one up, or leave a note in the church office if you need one mailed to you.

On Saturday, October 29, Markey Children’s Ministry will be hosting a Trunk or Treat and old fashioned Halloween party in the gymnasium. You are welcome to bring a friend and come join the fun! There will be games and fun for everyone, including a haunted hallway, bobbing for apples, and candy. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the church office.

This is it, our new website. Both markeychurch.com and markeychurch.org will bring you here to our new home. We will be turning on the comments on the home page so you can let us know what you think and if there are things you would like to see. Feel free to comment at the bottom of the page. This is not available on all the pages, so be sure to tell us which page you were on if there is something that needs attention. Also feel free to email or call the church office if you have any concerns.

We will also use this space to let you know of upcoming events. I will add a box to the home page, and there is a tab on the right hand side that shows what is coming this week. You are able to download the Markey Mailer just as before, and you are able to quickly link to the podcasts from each Sundays’ Worship Service using the itunes link at the right.

As you can see this is the new Markey Church webpage. There are ongoing changes and additional information, so please check back often. This welcome page will be updated when we make changes so you know what’s new and different here. Do not bookmark this page just yet, we will be transferring this page to our web address at www.markeychurch.com sometime this week. If you already have markeychurch.com bookmarked, you will soon be able to see our new page at our old address. We will update here, send out an email, and update facebook when it has happened.

If you have found this site, then you can see that it is still a work in progress.  I added a ton of information today and managed to give myself a headache, so for now it will stay like this.  I will be including the podcast information, The Story small group information, Life Group Information, and anything else I can think of in the coming days.  My hope is that this page will replace our current page, and will allow us a little more freedom to post what we want when we want to.
